Role Summary

The Supervisor, EBU (Engine Build Up) oversees the execution of aircraft maintenance at Alaska Airlines (AS). As a people leader, this role leads and establishes priorities for Shop requirements for the EBU Shop, Base Maintenance, and Line Maintenance teams, and ensures that it is accomplished with an emphasis on safety, productivity, reliability, and budget.

Key Duties

  • Lead team and establish priorities for daily and long-range EBU operational requirements and ensures compliance with all governing Federal, local, and AS regulations affecting operations at assigned stations.
  • Supervise the repair, overhaul, and/or modification of Engine parts/components, including communications with The Vendor performance team to ensure outsourced items are tracked and returned to service on time.
  • Supervise goals for in-shop repairs while ensuring Rotable support is in place for timely and accurate return to service of parts, Engines, and aircraft
  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on delegation, coaching, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, managing the performance of individuals in executing tasks, and time management
  • Ensures efficient and economical performance of the Shop and Base Maintenance functions in accordance with ASA and FAA regulations.
  • Communicates with the Shift Manager, On-Duty Maintenance Control, Vendor Management, internal engine support teams, and safety leaders regarding the status of aircraft at or transitioning to/from the station.
  • Ensures all scheduled maintenance work is accomplished in accordance with the plan for the assigned department or station.
  • Proactively reviews all maintenance documentation, procedures and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance and identify any opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure prompt requisitioning and monitor the availability of parts/materials required for efficient execution of required work at the station or base.
  • Enforces all safety rules and encourages and promotes safety awareness to all assigned personnel.
  • Complies with the provisions of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternity Association Agreement and address any concerns or issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 3 years of experience in Engine and Aircraft Systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and company procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to become proficient with TRAX (Maintenance Record of Compliance)
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people and communicate effectively (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Airbus and Boeing Experience
  • Ability to learn union labor workforce contracts application and administration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues.

Salary Range

$151,300 - $170,200 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

 

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
